Deus Ex Sucks A Great Big Bag Of Dicks
This is a screen capture of one of the more thrilling activities you can take part in while playing “Deus Ex”: Crouching behind things. Doesn’t that sound FUN!?! SO much better than shooting things, or chopping people up with that sword arm they gave you! Here are all of the reasons “Deus Ex” (marketed as a video game when really it’s designed to make you...

An Open Letter to any Suicidal Teenagers
If you are still in junior high or high school and contemplating suicide, don’t - I promise you, everything gets better. However, once everything has gotten better, everything will get worse again. It will, in fact, get worse than you think things are right now. For starters, your body will start to age. I know you take that for granted, otherwise you wouldn’t be thinking of...

To the people promoting their social media...
Using social just to pimp a business is obnoxious, and given what your business is, frankly it shows you are precisely unaware of how this stuff best works. I’m not talking about the consultants who are online and post to social media. That’s fine. I mean the people whose every post is a link to their blog, or Fan Page, or QR code, or whatever else they read they should do in last...

Passive-Aggressive behavior gets a bad rap
I’m always getting flack from people for being, “passive-aggressive.” While I’m a loudmouthed asshole on my blogs, in person I tend to hint at what’s bugging me. People think of this as a weakness, but I disagree. Passive-aggressive behavior isn’t just for my benefit. Let’s say I’m sitting alone, reading. Then you plunk down next to me and start...

10 phrases you are to stop saying right now
Every now and again, common language pushes me over the edge and I must vent. This is one of those times. What follows are 10 common expressions that need to end. They are useless, and can mark you as stupid when you use them: “It’s all good.” Besides being idiotic, (war, disease, assault - these things aren’t good, so certainly it can’t all be good,) this...

Happy Memorial Day!
I’m watching, “Tora! Tora! Tora!” right now, one of the best Pearl Harbor films made, and there’ve been a few. One thing I always think when watching on e of these movies, though, is that I’m not only glad we beat the Japanese, I’m glad we nuked them. Seriously. In fact, I think we should have kept on nuking them not until they surrendered, but until it stopped...

Black Swan - What the fuck was that all about?
Just saw “Black Swan,” a movie everyone’s been gushing about for weeks. I just don’t get it. I mean, I get it: She’s crazy, and a dancer, and she’s having crazy delusions, while dancing. She’s a good girl, but he wants her to be a bad girl, but she’s not a bad girl… And the whole time I’m watching it going, “can someone stop...

Should I get molested or make a porno?
The Girlfriend and I are planning to go to Disneyland again in January. Since our Nazi overlords at the TSA have decided no one can travel by air without suffering intolerable indignity, I now have a choice to make: Do I go through the new scanner, giving anyone who cares a screen capture of my junk in black and white, (and possibly cooking my innards like a microwave,) or letting a grown man...

Goldeneye 007 for Wii Rocks
I’m loving this new 007 game - it’s sort of a reboot of the N64 Goldeneye. (If you played that, you know it was one of the best games of all time. If you didn’t, you can stop reading now.) I haven’t really liked any first-person shooters since the first Halo, so it’s nice to have one again that’s fun.  It’s also interesting to play levels that are...

If you like euphemisms, you'll love this!
“We are encouraged that you will want to attend this important [meeting.]” That’s the most elegant way I’ve ever seen of saying, “Attendance isn’t required.” Brilliant!

Crud. T is feeling sick - in fact, so is the dog. I am okay so far. My fingers are crossed. Maybe it was too much of that cool sea air?

Loving this Vacation
It’s Wednesday and Tonya and I are both bumming out that this is half over. We’ve gotten a lot in since we got here, so we can’t complain. Still, the weather is incredible, Puppy loves the no-leash dog beach, and there’s a ton of stuff to do that we love doing. Yesterday was Disneyland, with Micky’s Hallow’een Costume Party. This meant sticking Martini in a...

Actual conversation with my girlfriend in San...
“Weather’s coming in!” “Yeah! There’s clouds and stuff!” “Wow! I like weather!” This is a conversation only two Arizona natives could possibly understand. Deserts are yucky.

I really do recommend these vacation things
It’s the end of our second day here in San Diego. It’s really nice here. Tonight we watched the fog roll in from the ocean. It was cool and dead quiet - a far cry from Tempe, where it’s still uncomfortably hot, dry, and noisy. It’s also a lot brighter. The nice thing about being this close to the ocean is you’re surrounded by 180° of area devoid of city lights. It...
