Loving this Vacation
It’s Wednesday and Tonya and I are both bumming out that this is half over. We’ve gotten a lot in since we got here, so we can’t complain. Still, the weather is incredible, Puppy loves the no-leash dog beach, and there’s a ton of stuff to do that we love doing.
Yesterday was Disneyland, with Micky’s Hallow’een Costume Party. This meant sticking Martini in a kennel for several hours, with two visits from us for bathroom and food. She was too freaked out to eat, and each time we visited her she was antsy. I felt pretty bad leaving her there each time - mostly because she’d look at me as if to say, “what the hell did I do!?!”
But Disneyland was great. We went as zombie killers - which was a little hard to get, since we couldn’t carry any zombie killing weapons. We did have “Human” and “Not Infected” on our clothes - so other zombie killers wouldn’t kill us, get it? Other than that there weren’t a lot of clues as to what we were. But we were also covered in blood and gore. Tonya was afraid they wouldn’t let us in, as every other costume was Pinochio, or The Mad Hatter (there were a TON of those,) or something else that was happy and safe. Us? We were zombie killers.
One Disney Castmember DID say to me, “nice,” which made me feel at least someone got it.
There were just a handful of other costumes that were worth my time - in particular, one crazy fucker who went as one of the Droogs from “A Clockwork Orange.” I recognized what he was and must have done a, “holy shit!” face as I passed him. I believe I got in the picture his friend was taking of him, because as we moved away she was laughing hystericaly and saying, “you have to see this!”
Today we went back to the dog beach. Martini at least temporarily forgave us for the kennel.
It is so brilliant here, I can’t even tell you. It’s so much better than when I had to live here before, let me tell you!
